BREAKING NEWS! Borneo International Marathon 2013 POSTPONED!

01.05.2013

BIM2013 POSTPONED

My Dear Friends,

It is with great regret and sadness that I write this letter.

We received a letter from the Police (copy below) advising us to postpone the Borneo International Marathon.

We will advise you on the next date of the Borneo International Marathon which will be held in 2013. All entries will be deferred till then.

The Committee understands your disappointment and we feel exactly the same way too. The stress, the hard work, and the time we have had to put in has resulted in tears and heart wrenching reflections of our volunteers, supporters and Committee. We have tried our best against all odds.

Finally, I would like to thank all our supporters, sponsors, the Police, Ministry of Youth & Sports, Ministry of Tourism and Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu for all their help and encouragement.

Meantime, participants who have registered may still collect their race pack at 6th floor, Suria Sabah Shopping Mall on 2nd to 4th May between 10am to 6pm. For more updates, please check our Facebook page and the website at www.borneomarathon.com

Darryl & Steffy: Wedding Video

Videographer: MazeLensaStudio Kuala Lumpur

Our wedding day was on 6th April 2013 and this pre-wedding/wedding video was shot a day before. Last minute, I know right! It was tiring but is was fun!! I felt like an actress for a day. Hahahaha.

MazeLensaStudio is based in Kuala Lumpur. Yazin is Darryl's colleague and he has his own photographers & cinematographers team for photography or cinematography projects. Do visit their Facebook if you are interested.

As you can see, we went to Tg. Aru Beach for the video shooting. It took us almost 3 hours. At first, Darryl and I couldn't act naturally but lama-lama ok juga la. What I like was when they ask us to do this and that, we didn't even realize that they are actually recording us. Hahahahaha.

The night before our wedding, Darryl and his groomsmen stayed at Marina Court Resort Condominium.

While, my MOH and some of my bridesmaids stayed at my house.

I wanted to blog more about my wedding day but I guess I had to wait for the photos from our photographers so I can write more and show you our lovely pictures.

Will try my best to let you know who became our caterers, church decorator, reception hall decorator, sound system & lighting and etc. Maybe I should include budgets as well so those of you who are getting married can get some rough ideas how much Sabahan spend money for wedding especially if you are from Penampang. Hehehehe.

Regards.

The Cockroach Theory for Self-development

I don't own the article. I just saw it on my feed, I find it interesting to read. It won't take much of your time.

*At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach.

Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky.

The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but ...it landed on another lady in the group.

Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama.

The waiter rushed forward to their rescue.
In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter.

The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of the cockroach on his shirt.
When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant.

Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behavior?
If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?
He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.

It is not the cockroach, but the inability of the ladies to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach that disturbed the ladies.

I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or my wife that disturbs me, but it’s my inability to handle the disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.

It’s not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me.

More than the problem, it’s my reaction to the problem that creates chaos in my life.

Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life.
I should always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.

Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of, just and right to save a situation from going out of hands, to avoid cracks in relationship, to avoid taking decisions in anger, anxiety, stress or hurry.
